Hey! I’m Kait, and I serve at the Well as the SR High and Young Adult Pastor, alongside a team of dedicated and passionate leaders.
My husband Dave and I, along with our son Caleb, have been at the Well for over 7 years and worship regularly at the Vaughan site.
Throughout my time at The Well, my role and title have changed many times, but youth ministry has always been an area of passion. Youth Ministry is hilarious, unique, challenging, rewarding, and inspiring – just like the youth who are a part of it!
What I love most about youth ministry is the raw honesty, authenticity, and passion with which youth wrestle with questions of life and faith. There is something so refreshing about sitting in a small group with a bunch of youth and young adults and listening to them talk about their hopes for a vibrant faith community where all feel welcomed into the presence of God.
In the past few years, my ministry wheelhouse has shifted and grown and now includes our young adult’s ministry as well, where we help young people transition into post-secondary and the workplace with support, encouragement, and a solid foundation of faith.
We love to see our young people becoming involved in the local church through service. On any given Sunday you will probably see one of our youth or young adults serving on a worship, tech, children’s, or set-up team. They are dedicated servants who are willing to give of themselves for the betterment of others.
As the SR High/Young Adult Pastor it is my goal to help young people identify their God-given gifts, to honour their stories and life experiences, and to encourage them into deeper faith through intentional relationship-building and discipleship. This is not a job I can (or want to!) do on my own and so I am very grateful to work alongside an amazing team of adult volunteers who are also passionate about seeing youth shape the church of today.
