My name is Kait Tompkins and I am the Pastor of Youth and Family here at The Well.
When I was a youth I always felt drawn to church. Growing up in a Christian family made getting involved there easy. But perhaps was most compelling about going to youth group each week was that I knew there were people there who loved and cared for me. Over the 7 years from grade 6-12 I had many adult mentors who spoke kind, encouraging, and often challenging words to me. These were adults who, now looking back, I know God put in my life in order to draw me into a deep relationship with Him. It wasn’t until 2012, however, when I returned from a year of working with street youth and their families in South America, that I felt called to devote my life to ministering to youth and families in the context of the local church. I wanted to help facilitate environments where youth, young adults and their families could encounter Jesus and the intensity of His truth, mercy, and love, and where parents and young people alike could feel empowered to be the men and women that God created them to be. Since then I’ve been on the journey of learning what that looks like, which is how I ended up at The Well!
